Welcome to the Slide Ranch Chefs Collective--a collaboration between Slide Ranch and Bay Area top chefs and their restaurants to help kids learn about food from seed to meal.
Wine Director/owner of A16 and SPQR, and Slide Ranch Board Member, Shelley Lindgren, is helping lead this new Slide Ranch program. Over the coming year, the Slide Ranch Chefs Collective partners will host a variety of events and activities to help raise awareness of Slide Ranch and inspire donations for our food and nature education programs.
Founding partner chefs and their restaurants are: 1300 on Fillmore (David Lawrence), A16 (Rocky Maselli), Central Kitchen (Thomas McNaughton), Flour + Water (Thomas McNaughton), Insalatas (Taylor Carnes), SPQR (Mathew Accarrinco), State Bird Provisions (Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski), Twenty Five Lusk (Mathew Dolan) and Wayfare Tavern (Tyler Florence).
“I was introduced to Slide Ranch last year and immediately fell in love with their work to connect children to the natural world,” said Shelley Lindgren. “Food has been central to my life since I can remember, and it’s sad to think that many Bay Area children don’t spend enough time in nature and even more don’t know how their food grows—these essential experiences last a lifetime. Slide Ranch is a hidden gem in Marin, and I am inspired by this collaboration to help them reach and teach more kids.”
We are enormously excited about the potential to grow our farm-to-table programming and are very grateful to Shelley, and all of our chef and restaurant partners, for their support. Thanks also to volunteer Aaron Hughes, for managing our first holiday drive, and new design agency, Citizen Best, for creating the Slide Ranch Chefs Collective logo and supporting collateral.
