Renew Slide Ranch Everyone who visits Slide Ranch is struck by the rustic charm of the century-old complex of ranch buildings that still support ranch operations. But in the winter, our roofs leak everywhere and throughout the year we encounter entire walls that our termites have loved to death. Several recent grants and donations of building materials have allowed us to make critical repairs so that we can continue to support our programs. Each of us has a part to play in building a sustainable future. Our board, staff and volunteers have united to create the vision of a renewed Slide Ranch. We've turned that vision into architect plans and drawings. In 2008, BAR Architects provided pro bono services to produce designs for the Slide Ranch Green Barn, a new education space with a demonstration kitchen, ADA accessibility, warm water and flushing toilets. Now we need to make these plans a reality for the many Bay Area children and families who attend our educational programs. Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey graciously introduced a request for a 10% project support grant through a federal appropriation. The Marin Community Foundation and numerous other foundations and major donors have supported the Campaign to Renew Slide Ranch through generous grants and matching gifts programs. In 2004 new roads and drainage infrastructure, a new parking lot and two new residential cabins for staff were completed as part of Phase One of an ambitious master plan. The Green Barn is the next step in Phase One and we hope we can count on your support as we move forward.
