Volunteers are essential to supporting the care of Slide Ranch and the success of our mission.

Docents are volunteers who provide group learning experiences and guided volunteer activities in the form of ranch tours, demonstrations, garden support, or instruction in special activity areas. Any individual interested in becoming a Slide Ranch Docent will need to complete a docent specific training.

Perennial Volunteers do not participate in any formal training but will need to participate in a half day orientation to Slide Ranch, after which they can come on a regular basis to care for our garden, grounds, facilities, animal enclosures, trails, or support office tasks as needed. Trail & Grounds Crew will support general maintenance on our ranch grounds and trails. Office Support volunteers answer phones, inventory merchandise, collect mail, support bookkeeping, and may assist in some scheduling. Garden volunteers specifically help with garden tasks like weeding, planting, watering, composting, pruning, and more.

Docents and Perennial Volunteers commit to complete ~15 hours of service monthly between the hours of 8:30 am and 4 pm. Perennial Volunteers (non-docents) may volunteer any day of the week depending on Slide Ranch Staff schedules.
