Our Rocky Shore

A majority of the visitors we receive at Slide Ranch come to visit our "charismatic megafauna" - otherwise known as the goats, sheep, chickens, and ducks. While I love all of our farm animals, my favorite creatures at Slide Ranch are found a bit farther from the main ranch, down the trail, and into the intertidal zone. It is in this space we find a diversity of invertebrates with incredible adaptations to withstand some of the harshest conditions along our coast. If you have yet to visit our tidepools, I invite you to check the local tide tables for a good low tide (anything below a 0.5' tide) and experience the joy of discovery around each rocky outcrop!
