Can my camper be grouped with friends at camp?
We do our best to group campers together with at least one friend, as long as they are in the same grade range. Be sure to make your camper’s friend request in the registration.
If you don’t do any social planning in advance, don’t worry! Our small group format and trained staff help facilitate new friendships and make every camper feel safe and included.
-
Can my camper join their sibling/friend in an older/younger age group?
We carefully craft our curriculum to provide the perfect amount of challenge and fun for camp groups specific level. Therefore, we cannot group campers that are more than a year apart together.
-
How are children grouped for camp?
We generally group summer campers K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6+ in respective groups. As this is highly dependent on each week’s registrations, this may vary slightly. Youth ages 12+ are invited to train to be CITs.
Our school break camps may have broader age ranges depending on enrollment.
-
Do you require parents to show an ID at check-out?
Yes, anyone who is picking up your child from camp must bring their ID and be listed as an authorized pick up person for your child. If you need a last-minute alternate pick-up person, please email or text us ASAP so we can avoid delay at pick-up. If you forget to add someone to the pick-up form, we will call you before releasing your child to anyone not on your form.
-
What do I do if my child is sick?
Safety is our top priority. Please do not send your child to camp if they feel ill, have a fever, or have flu-like symptoms. For the safety of our campers and staff, all children must be fever free (without medication) for a minimum of 24 hours. We appreciate your help in keeping our camp safe!
Please contact Slide Ranch immediately if your child or anyone else from your household tests positive or shows symptoms for Covid-19 OR any other communicable disease.
-
What is your hiring process?
Our staff goes through a rigorous interview process that includes an application, interview, reference check, and criminal background check. All staff at CPR and First Aid certified.
Once hired, all staff receive 7 days of in-person staff training before the start of camp. Our seasoned Program Coordinator and Program Director provide ongoing supervision and support throughout the camp weeks.
-
What should my camper wear/bring to camp?
A Backpack - that can fit their lunch, snack, refillable water bottle, and a jacket.
Layered clothing that can get dirty: We recommend long pants and jackets. It tends to be significantly cooler at our coastal location than in most surrounding areas, and sometimes foggy and windy, and kids will be entirely outside.Extra underwear/pants/socks (especially important if they have had a bathroom accident in the past year; but also important since kids may get muddy or wet!)
Sturdy shoes: for hiking (no open-toed shoes)
Sunscreen and a sunhat
Water bottle, lunch & snack (peanut/tree nut-free please)

Lost & Found
Help us keep track of your campers’ belongings by labeling all personal items (backpack, water bottle, lunchbox, jacket, hat, etc.) with their first and last names. Check the lost and found or ask any Slide Ranch staff member about any lost items.
Please ensure that your camper has all of their belongings prior to leaving camp. All lost and found will be donated at the end of summer.
