IMPORTANT CAMP DETAILS
A majority of the information below is specific to our Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Camp programming. Our single day Holiday break programming hours are 9:30am-2pm.
For weeklong camps, Monday - Friday camp drop-off is at 9:30am. Please walk your camper and all of their belongings up to their designated group in the Cypress Grove. Program staff will be available to direct you if needed.
For weeklong camps, Monday - Thursday camp pick-up is at 3:00pm at the same location as drop-off.
CITs are asked to arrive at 8:30am and stay until 3:30pm. CITs do not need a parent to sign them in or out.
Fridays at 2:00pm we host our end of camp Garden Party! Please come directly to our garden. Events include Closing Circle, an opportunity for each group to share a special creation with family and friends, and a small Farmer's Market (if garden produce is available). If you are unable to attend, please ensure your child is picked up by camp end at 3:00pm. Please be sure to sign your camper(s) out prior to leaving the Garden Party!
Enter Slide Ranch through the South Driveway (by our mailbox), and exit through the North Driveway. Please drive slowly, be aware, and be patient…thanks! Due to limited parking, please park close to other vehicles so there is room for all.
Please arrive on time for camper pick-up and drop-off.
We realize life happens! There is a 15 minute grace period for pick-up. If you are running later than this, you will be charged for after-care.
Slide Ranch is offering extended care this year (SUMMER ONLY!)! Early care will be available from 8:00-9:30am at a rate of $25/day or $115/week. Aftercare is available from 3:00-5:00pm at a rate of $30/day or $140/week. Extended care is supervised recreation time. Please be sure to send an extra snack if your child is participating! Unfortunately, this year we are unable to accommodate sibling discounts but if your family is in need of scholarships please email program@slideranch.org, or call 415-381-6155. Extended care drop-off will be at the Cypress trees. Pick-up will be in the Garden. If you come before the end of extended care, come to our Office so we can radio to the aftercare group.
Our teachers help campers do routine “tick checks," however, we encourage you to thoroughly check your child at home. Please review the fact sheet for more information and contact staff if you have any questions.
Be green! Carpool to camp. If you note interest in carpooling upon registering, we will share a list of other families interested in doing so prior to the start of camp so you can arrange carpooling.
Slide Ranch is a peanut-free camp environment. Please refrain from packing any lunch or snacks that contain peanuts. Thank you for your help in creating a safe environment for kids to learn about and celebrate food, including allergies and our varied needs.
Most weeks campers will be tie-dying their camp t-shirts! Please look for their shirts in their backpack with instructions on care and washing. We would love all campers to wear their t-shirt on Friday!
Our teachers will be taking photos throughout the camp week. Look for an email at the end of the camp week with a link to a photo gallery.
WHAT TO PACK
Backpack - that can fit lunch, snack, refillable water bottle, and a jacket
Layered clothing that can get dirty: We recommend long pants and jackets. It tends to be significantly cooler at our coastal location than in most surrounding areas, and sometimes foggy and windy, and kids will be entirely outside.
Extra underwear/pants/socks (especially important if they have had a bathroom accident in the past year; but also important since kids may get muddy or wet!)
Sturdy shoes: for hiking (no open-toed shoes)
Sunscreen and a sunhat
Reusable water bottle, zero/low waste lunch & snack (peanut/tree nut-free please)
Extra snacks if attending extended care (early or late)
An adventurous spirit, ready to accept the 5 Slide Ranch challenges: to get dirty, try something new, ask questions, make new friends, and have fun!
