Slide Ranch Summer Camp - Ranch Rangers

August 10-14, 2015

Please let us know your thoughts about your week of camp by filling out our online camp evaluation form. Your feedback and suggestions are very important to us and will help us continually improve our programs!

Thank you for sharing your children with Slide Ranch!

We loved having them here and want to share some of the highlights and photos of all that we did together.

Camp Journal

This week at Slide Ranch, campers explored and adventured in many different and creative ways.

Our Ranch Rangers hiked out to the the Bone Grove, went spider web hunting, buried a time capsule, and made fairy houses. One group even went ole'-fashioned fishin’ at the tide pools with fennel fishing rods and wool flies!

As usual, our campers helped care for our farm animals, feeding and brushing our goats, and honing their milking skills, and they also got to hold baby chicks. Groups observed owls, deer, and even spotted some dolphins!

We got down and dirty and dug fresh potatoes to make french fries, created pretzels and pizza from homemade dough, fresh farm cheese, and herbs from the garden. While in the garden and on the trails, kids learned about bees, decomposers, plant families and native medicinal plants. Together we read The Tiny Seed and The Lorax, and discussed “where things come from,” what they want to be when they grow up, and how we can take care of the earth - thought-provoking and engaging conversations were had by all!

We deeply value sharing these experiences with our community of children and hope that all our of our campers have wonderful memories of their time here.

Thank you for being connected with Slide Ranch. We hope to see you and your family at one of our upcoming family programs and festivals for a day of family fun or even to volunteer.

Warmly,

The Slide Ranch Camp Team
